Charlie Burris

Funeral services for Charlie Burris, 69 year old Buffalo native who passed away April 13, 2012 while visiting in Grand Junction, Colorado will be held Saturday, April 28th at 2:00 p.m. from the Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Father Pete Johnson officiating.
Donations in Charlie’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice in care of the Adams Funeral Home at 351 N. Adams in Buffalo. Interment and graveside rites will follow the funeral in Willow Grove Cemetery with the American Legion and VFW in charge of military honors.
Charles Kenwyn Burris was born on September 5, 1942 in Buffalo, Wyoming to Labe and Peg Burris. He grew up and received his schooling in Buffalo and graduated from Buffalo High School with the class of1961.
After high school Charlie worked at various jobs and joined the U.S. Army where he became an E6 Staff Sergeant. He was stationed in West Germany with the 1st Infantry Division and later served with the 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment in Vietnam.
He also served with the 3rd-71st Missile Battalion in Korea.
Charlie received the Distinguished Service Cross, the Bronze Star, A Purple Heart, three Vietnamese Battle Stars and the Cambodian Invasion Ribbon. He was honorably discharged in 1975.
Charlie was married to Jo Reynolds and they were later divorced. He then married Patty Berry and they were also divorced. Charlie spent most of his career working in car dealerships selling cars. He retired in 2011 while living in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where he continued to reside until the time of his death.
Charlie was active in leadership seminars and sales seminars. His true passion was playing golf whenever and where ever he could.
He is survived by two daughters, Molly Will and her husband Jay of Sheridan and Melissa Spanyers and her husband Lloyd also of Sheridan; one son Stephen Burris of Sheridan; his mother Peg (Burris) Rogers of Buffalo; one sister Kassie Spiering and her husband Geoff of Buffalo; one brother Lynn Burris of Buffalo; six grandchildren and numerous niece, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, one grandson and one nephew.
