An Early Christmas Present for the Buffalo Community – AAB Set to Close on Beutler’s as New Home for the Cowboy Carousel Nov. 30th

Historic Beutler's Building to House the Cowboy Carousel Center on Artisan Row in Buffalo's Downtown Historic District

The Cowboy Carousel finally has its new home in the center of Buffalo’s historic district — thereby fulfilling the final wish of Emerson Scott who sold the Carousel to the BDA with a promise that a suitable home would be found for it in downtown Buffalo, Wyoming. Now it has that home. The Carousel Committee of the BDA, charged with finding that home and negotiating its purchase, settled on another historic building in Buffalo this past spring as the new home of the beloved Cowboy Carousel. The Carousel Committee’s Chair, Kitty Merrill, has just announced that a final closing date of November 30thwill bring the long process to a close

LIKE IT OR NOT, MONSANTO GENETICALLY MODIFIED SWEET CORN IS ABOUT TO HIT WALMART PRODUCE SECTION – AND YOU WON’T EVEN KNOW IT’S GE CORN

“The GE sweet corn is the first consumer product developed by Monsanto that will go straight from the farm to the consumer’s plate, rather than first being processed into animal feed, sugars, oils, fibers and other ingredients found in a wide variety of conventional food.” Like it or not, Monsanto’s genetically modified sweet corn will soon be arriving on grocery store shelves of the world’s largest retailer, WalMart Stores, Inc., and will not be labeled as such. Despite an onslaught of consumer pressure, WalMart confirmed late last week with the Chicago Tribune that it has no objection to selling the new crop of Monsanto’s genetically modified (GE) sweet corn. Other retailers, including the national grocery chains Safeway and Kroger, have not responded on the issue, however Whole Foods, Trader Joes and General Mills have all vowed not to carry or use the GE sweet corn.

millions against monsanto

For nearly two decades, Monsanto and corporate agribusiness have exercised near-dictatorial control over American agriculture, aided and abetted by indentured politicians and regulatory agencies, supermarket chains, giant food processors, and the so-called “natural” products industry. They have blocked healthier products from coming to market, while keeping products – especially food additives – in the US food supply that have shown themselves to be less than healthy for us.
